Race day schedule
- 6:30 am: Packet pickup and registration
- 7:30 am: Start of 12K walk*
- 8:00 am: Start of 2K run
- 8:15 am: Start of 12K* run and military run
- 8:30 am: Start of 5K run and walk
- 9:45 am: Awards ceremony at stage
- 10:00 am: Start of diaper dash
*12K Route: This year, the Sound to Narrows 12K course returns through the iconic main entrance of Point Defiance Park with an updated route experience that now includes stretches along the scenic Promenade Ln from Point Defiance Marina to Owens Beach then connecting to Five Mile Drive.
As Parks Tacoma continues construction related to Phase 2 of the Loop Trail project, pedestrian-friendly modifications remain in place throughout portions of the park.
Start line location
The start location for 2K, 5K and 12K events is at North Vassault Drive and 37th Street in Tacoma.

Due to ongoing construction within Point Defiance Park’s Five Mile Drive, this year’s 12k will be modified once again. We do promise to have all the legendary hills you are accustomed to as well as a bit more distance.
